The West Virginia Education Information System (WVEIS) was established with a goal to assist all counties in the collection of valuable data in an efficient manner. This allows a standardized and effective way to process data collection and analysis. Everything from student records to employee records to financial records are maintained using this system. The WVEIS system utilizes IBM AS/400 computers running NCS CIMS III School Management Software. A full time Computer Information Systems staff is responsible for the following areas:
- Assist/Support county personnel in the use of the IBM AS/400 hardware and software. – Design and coordinate training of county personnel for the WVEIS project. – Provide specialized report services for counties – schools and central offices. – Coordinate the regional planning, implementation and operation of the WVEIS project. – Serve as a liaison among local, regional, and state agencies in the exploration and development of cost effective programs. – Assist the State Department of Education in the management of the state-wide communications network for access to WVEIS and the Internet.
Now you can visit The State WVEIS Support page where you will find the latest information regarding WVEIS including documentation, course codes, problem reporting/resolution, etc.
Please remember that it is against the law to disclose your WVEIS password to ANYONE. Please refer to West Virginia State Code §61-3C-10. Disclosure of computer security information.
